New Bethlehem Bike Shop Announces Grand Opening

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO) – Following their ‘pre-opening’ this past weekend, plans for a Bike Shop and 24 hour Bike/Skate Park in New Bethlehem PA are turning from a dream into reality. Valley Bikes has officially announced a grand opening date of May 1st 2019. Valley Bikes will be located along the Redbank Valley Trail in the old Keck building next to the New Bethlehem Fire Hall. Offering everything from bicycle sales, repair & rental, to canoe & kayak rental (and much more), ‘Valley Bike Shop’ and ‘The Block’ 24hr Bike/Skate Park has received overwhelmingly positive feedback and support from local businesses and the Redbank Valley community.

Turning his dream into reality, tattoo artist, bike enthusiast and business owner Rhett Atwood, along with Sandra Mateer, President of the Redbank Valley Trails Association and New Bethlehem Borough Council, hosted a pre-opening celebration for  ‘Valley Bike Shop’ and ‘The Block 24hr Bike/Skate Park.’

“It’s been hard finding the words to express my thanks for everyone that help us make yesterday possible! The Valley Advantages crew went above and beyond to make sure everyone that came through was taken care of! We couldn’t of done it without you!! And frankly we wouldn’t want too, all of you were an absolute blessing so many people came through to show their support I couldn’t possibly thank you all enough!” – Rhett Atwood

Atwood explains on his Facebook page for ‘The Block,’ this past weekend was the first of three (3) events planned over the next few weeks until their grand opening on May 1st. The Block 24hr Bike Park will have an “open house” format (times will vary) and bike ramps will remain available for folks to enjoy for $10 bucks per person – watch their Facebook page for an upcoming Pizza Block Party and BMX Jam Contest – all proceeds supporting the opening of Valley Bikes.

Atwood also shared “Once were open at Valley bikes are number one goal is to offer you professional service the highest quality parts rentals for on the trail and in the creek! This is what will allow us to build the park to the highest quality of standards just in time for the Winter season!”

Atwood wholeheartedly belies this movement of community support will ‘change the lives‘ of the local business community and those tourists who are eating, staying and spending money in our trail-driven economy;

“I know we have a lot of money to raise in a short time, but this happening will change the lives of so many for the better not just locally but for so many that will come to our facility coming to our town enjoy our great food stay in our local B&Bs and truly know what it’s like to be a part of our community! We are taking on sponsors for anyone who wants to help us reach our goal we will be doing massive amounts of advertising an outreach for all those who contribute! What we are doing is not for us it’s for everyone within our age and so far beyond,” Atwood shared.

‘The Block 24hr Skate/Bike Park’ intends to offer indoor biking all year long with bike rentals, lessons, summer camp and special memberships. ‘Valley Bike Shop’ will be “Opening May 1st 2019” and offering service on all styles and sizes bikes as well as Canoe & Kayak rentals.

Lastly, Atwood enthusiastically thanked all those folks who came out this past weekend to the pre-opening. Atwood explained that everyone who helped was an ‘absolute blessing’ and he looks forward to the upcoming weeks until Valley Bike’s grand opening celebration.
