A heartfelt thank you to Rev. David Westover and First Baptist Church of Distant for hosting this past Wednesday’s Redbank Valley Church Association Lenten service.

Rev. Westover delivered a powerful sermon on “Understanding” (Matthew 26:45), focusing on Jesus’ time in the Garden of Gethsemane. He emphasized how Jesus pleaded three times for the cup to be taken from Him, yet ultimately submitted to the will of God. While Jesus was fighting for His life in prayer, His disciples were sleeping, unaware of the significance of the moment—prompting us to ask ourselves: “Are we sleeping spiritually?”

💡 Four Key Takeaways on Salvation:
1️⃣ The Word of God must be the source of our understanding.
2️⃣ There is no alternative to the cross—salvation cannot come through our own efforts.
3️⃣ Salvation was completed in Christ; we cannot earn it ourselves.
4️⃣ Salvation must be received—it is a gift we must accept.

📖 Acts 4:12 – “There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
📖 Ephesians 2:9 – “It is the gift of God, not by works.”

The blood of the cross covers our sin, and our sin is nailed to the cross. Salvation is not just a theory—it is a personal decision that transforms our lives. We are called not only to receive Christ but to actively live out our faith every day.

This morning, we gathered for a powerful Men’s Prayer Breakfast featuring guest speaker John Milliron, who shared an inspiring message on conflict, unity, and the attitude of Christ.

🔨 Key Takeaways:
➡️ A story of two brothers divided by conflict—building fences vs. bridges 🌉
➡️ Philippians 2:1-4: “If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ… then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.”
