Clues continue to surface for 'lost' Redbank carousel
ALCOLA – The recent demolition of the old Merry-Go-Round Building at Redbank Valley Municipal Park, and subsequent newspaper stories about the building and the carousel that it once housed, continues to spark conversation in the area about that “lost” piece of local history.
After a story ran in The Leader-Vindicator a couple of weeks ago relating memories of the carousel from a pair of readers, some new information about the ride has come to light.
The Victory Garden is a Girl Scout project to honor veterans of the US Armed Forces that will be located next to the New Bethlehem Moose Lodge and organized by local girl scout Emily Truitt to earn her Girl Scout Silver Award.
The Victory Garden was scheduled to be completed by September 30th, 2020. Emily has raised about 30% of her goal. Her plan was to fundraise like crazy during the spring and summer months in order to break ground in the fall. Unfortunately, do to circumstances beyond her control, she was not able to complete the fundraising necessary to complete the project. She is currently working with Girl Scouts to see if she can be granted an extension. We will let you all know as soon as we have word. Thank you for your continued support. ... See MoreSee Less
