NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO) – The Redbank Valley Church Association is hosting the 2018 Baccalaureate Service at the Leatherwood Church in New Bethlehem PA on Sunday May 6th at 7pm for the graduating class at Redbank Valley High School. Family, friends and the public are welcome.

In addition to the tradition commencement ceremony with it’s cap and gown, congratulatory handshakes, speeches and recognition of outstanding achievements, the Redbank Valley School District also hosts a baccalaureate ceremony organized by the Redbank Valley Church Association.

The baccalaureate is a non-denominational spiritual service that allows for Redbank Valley graduates to find spiritual meaning that aligns with their personal beliefs. The Redbank Valley Church Association hosts this important religious service to honor the graduating class while giving students the opportunity to reflect on their personal growth and achievement.

Pastor Tina Lipps, Oakland Church of God

FEATURED SPEAKERS:
The 2018 Baccalaureate service will feature speakers Pastor Tina Lipps of the Oakland Church of God in Distant as well as Dr. Joe Harmon, Civics Teacher and faculty representative of the Redbank Valley High School.

Pastor Tina Lipps is the Youth/Associate Pastor at the Oakland Church of God and holds a BA in Christian Ministries & Youth Leadership and Development with a minor in non-profit leadership.

Dr. Joseph Harmon, Redbank Valley High School

Dr. Joseph Harmon is a Civics teacher at Redbank Valley High School and holds a doctorate of education concentrating in curriculum and instruction. Dr. Harmon currently serves on the Educators Network for iCivics and was the 2016 PA History Teacher of the Year.

The Redbank Valley Baccalaureate service is often a moving and emotional experience for students and families as well as teachers and administrators. The Redbank Valley Church Association encourages the public to attend the service to show your pride and support for the graduating class.
