Redbank Valley hosts Wreaths Across America

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO) – Ray Ishman of the local American Legion Post 354 recently visited New Bethlehem Borough’s monthly meeting to promote the Wreaths Across America effort to honor local veterans in the New Bethlehem area and Redbank Valley community.

Wreaths Across America is a program where family members or friends can remember and honor their veteran loved ones. Each family, friend or individual may purchase a wreath for their loved one to be placed at their grave site. Cost is $15.00 per wreath.

Prior to laying the wreaths, the American Legion will perform a ceremony honoring these veterans at the Redbank Valley Veterans Memorial Park at 407 Arch Street, New Bethlehem, PA on December 17th at 1:00 pm. At the grave site each veteran’s name will be spoken aloud so they will never be forgotten.

Wreaths may be ordered by filling out the application below and mailing it to American Legion Post 354. Attn: Wreaths Across America. P.O. Box 244 New Bethlehem, PA 16242. Donations will be accepted for laying wreaths at veteran’s grave sites that no longer have family members in the area. Please, only one veteran per application. Applications must be turned in by November 21st 2022. No exceptions.

New Bethlehem Borough meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at the Alltel/Windstream Building on Lafayette Street. Folks may contact the Borough’s office to be placed on the meeting agenda.
