Redbank Valley Trails Climax Tunnel Celebration
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO): – Join the Redbank Valley Trails Association, along with Allegheny Valley Land Trust and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, in celebrating the completion of renovations and re-opening of the Climax Tunnel.
Just three miles from New Bethlehem, the Climax Tunnel is a vital feature of the 51-mile Redbank Valley Trails.
The Climax Tunnel Celebration is scheduled for August 18th, from 10:30a.m. to 2:00p.m. We’ll hear from key stakeholders involved in the tunnel renovations, including PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Dunn.
As of July 16th, the 75 spots for free lunch and desert for the Climax Tunnel Celebration have been filled! Zack’s Restaurant and The Meadows Frozen Custard will still be on site serving lunch and dessert, but individuals will be responsible for covering this cost on their own.
Riders are gathering at both the Brookville and Summerville trailheads at 8:00a.m. and riding to the tunnel. Another group, meeting at the New Bethlehem trailhead, will depart at 10:00a.m. All riders are aiming to arrive at the tunnel by 10:30a.m. Please keep in mind that bike rides are unsupported and you’ll need to arrange return transportation.
