Redbank Valley Public Library “Rocked” Summer Reading Program
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. by: Cecelia Harmon (RVO) – On Tuesday, August 14th, Redbank Valley Public Library wrapped up its Summer Reading Program. The Summer Reading Program is a yearly program that is held on Tuesdays from June through August. While it is mainly directed at the K-6th grade age brackets, there are fun activities and workshops certain evenings throughout the summer for the adults as well.
This year, the theme was “Library Rocks”. Each week the kids enjoyed a rock themed activity along with a story and a snack. The activities were led by a guest speaker and were anything from painting rocks, making pretend fossils, dancing, and even using a rock star photo booth.
When asked about what kind of a time they had at Summer Reading, the participants were eager to give their testimonials:
Cora said:
“My favorite part about Summer Reading was [eating] slushies.”
Silas chimed in:
“I love it so much.”
and Maelle summed up everyone’s thoughts with:
“I liked being with my friends and learning and just having fun!”
Thank you to all of the volunteers and guest teachers for helping to make this year’s Summer Reading Program ROCK!
