Redbank Valley launches Lunch Program
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO) – A new program is beginning for children in the Redbank Valley School District who are going hungry on the weekends. It is not based on income, but what the teachers observe. They are the ones who see children consistently coming to school hungry.
Students can get meals while in school, but weekends can be a problem. Many students do not receive adequate food at home. Under this program students will be given food on Fridays which will be taken home and kept for just them to eat over the weekend. The food will be distributed to identified students privately to protect the students’ privacy.
Churches, community groups and individuals are encouraged to consider helping by:
- Praying.
- Donating food items from the list below.
