Mayor Tim Murray and Councilwoman Jen Murray Resign

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO) by John Gerow – Mayor Tim Murray and Councilwoman Jen Murray offered their resignations to the Borough Council at tonight’s meeting. The Murrays are moving out of New Bethlehem Borough and will no longer be eligible to serve on the Council.

New Bethlehem Police Department will be getting a police dog after all. Chief Robert Malnofsky told the Borough Council tonight that he has received a grant from a gentleman in East Brady to purchase a dog. The Chief is planning on staging several fundraisers to purchase the equipment and to pay for the training for the dog.

Also, Council approved a proposed budget for 2020. The public will be able to review the proposed budget and Council will vote to approve at their December 17 meeting. The proposed plan calls for a 1.75 mil increase and a doubling of the per capita tax from $5 to $10.
