Your Guide to the Spookiest Halloween (2019)

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. by: Cecelia Harmon (RVO) – Fall is here again, and Halloween is just around the corner. Our team here at RedbankValley.Org believes that the scariest thing that could happen to you this season would be missing a spooky scary event! And so, we have compiled a list of all things creepy taking place in the Redbank Valley area this year for everyone (witch, werewolf, or monster) to enjoy!

Halloween 2019 – New Bethlehem PA – Redbank Valley

Trick-or-Treat Night

Location: New Bethlehem and South Bethlehem Borough
Date: October 31st
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Cost: FREE

Everyone is welcome to trick-or-treat in both the NB and SB boroughs on all hallow’s eve. New Bethlehem Fire Company will be hard at work ensuring the safety of all the trick-or-treaters (especially from one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eaters). Hawthorn Borough Trunk-or-Treat

Location: Hawthorn Borough
Date: October 31st
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.

All of the children of the Hawthorn Borough are invited to go trick-or-treating on Halloween night throughout the borough. The Hawthorn Volunteer Fire Company will be on the scene to prevent any unwanted spooky incidences. Halloween Parade

Time: 6:30 – 8 p.m.

The Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce and the New Bethlehem Lion’s Club host their annual Halloween costume contest. Even if you are not donning creepy or creative garb, you are still welcome to sit and enjoy the parade of the costumes to music by the Redbank Valley High School Marching Band. Ghoul’s Day

Location: Redbank Valley Community Center

Time: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

With all of the spooky, scary events happening, everyone just needs a Ghoul’s Day Out! Hop on your broomstick and fly to the community center where there will be vendors to explore. Children are invited to wear their costumes and sneak in some early trick-or-treating. Vendors are still welcome to set up; the cost is $15 a table. Pumpkin Chunkin’

If you ever wondered what would happen if you launched a pumpkin into the sky, then look no further! New Bethlehem VFW hosts their 13th annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ where everyone is welcome to come and watch pumpkins fly through the crisp autumn sky. Redbank Valley Public Library Halloween Costume Party
*21 years and older
Location: 191 Schickland Drive, Oak Ridge
Date: October 26th
Time: 7 – 11 p.m.

For any adult wanting to have some creepy crawly fun, while also supporting a good cause, the library is hosting a costume party. This event promises a haunted time with food, games, prizes, and some surprises along the way. Tickets are available for purchase at the Redbank Valley Public Library. Great Pumpkin Tutoring Party
*K – 12th grade students
Location: Redbank Valley Community Center
Date: October 30th
Time: 3 – 4:30 p.m.

Every student is invited to creep, crawl, or walk to the community center after school the day before Halloween for a Great Pumpkin celebration! This spooky study break will include snacks and a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”. Halloween costumes are encouraged!! Zombie Infested 5K

*All welcome, but may be frightening/physically strenuous for children
Location: Redbank Valley Municipal Park
Date: November 2nd
Time: 5 – 9 p.m.
Registration @ 3 p.m.
Cost: $30, $25 pre-registered

Oh no! A mutant bacterial strain has escaped a biosecure facility, and it’s infecting people in Clarion County! The only way to escape infection is to run away and leap over obstacles! Don’t get caught! Observers are welcome; zombies and un-infected individuals are needed. There will be other brain-eating fun at the park for children/or adults who are not able to run the 5K. Spook-Tacular

Location: Redbank Valley Municipal Park
Date: October 12th, 13th
Time: 4 – 10 p.m., 1 – 5 p.m.
Cost: $5/person, $3/person for parties larger than five

For just one weekend, the Redbank Valley Municipal Park will be transformed into Transylvania, thanks to the hard work of the RVHS Robotics and 4-H clubs. This event is stuffed with creepy fun including: face-painting, pumpkin decorating, games, food, vendors, and a haunted hayride! Enter if you dare!

Fairmount City UMC Trunk-Or-Treat
*Family Friendly
Location: Fairmount City United Methodist Church
Date: October 31st
Time: 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Cost: FREE

Instead of going door to door this year to acquire that much needed candy, children are invited to go from car trunk to car trunk! Each trunk is promised to have a fun decorative theme, and hot dogs will also be provided. Remember to wear a costume and bring your favorite bucket!
