Another Peanut Butter Festival is all Wrapped Up

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (RVO) by Cecelia Harmon (aka Grape Jelly)The Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce recently wrapped up another successful Peanut Butter Festival. This was the 23rd annual festival, and the weather remained sublime all weekend.

On Friday night, the festival queen, Mackenzie Young was crowned; Natalie Harmon was named as the Runner-Up. Businesses hosted local wineries as part of the Nutty Wine Walk, Son of Leroy gave a great performance, and fireworks lit the night sky.

Saturday was packed with a 5K race, mountain bike race, and a hot wing eating contest hosted by Zack’s. The parade featured many creative floats, and Route 8 band put on an entertaining show later that evening.

Sunday started with motorcycle rally which doubled as a fundraiser for a local cancer patient. Festival attendees were entertained by local talent and Jimmy Swogger and Friends. The car show was also wildly successful with an estimated 300+ classic cars on display for all to see.

Our team at RedbankValley.org was at Gumtown Memorial Park all weekend, festively dressed as “Peanut Butter” and “Grape Jelly”. We were hard at work capturing the nutty fun with both video recaps and pictures.

If you find yourself craving peanut butter before the festival starts again next year, you can relive all the smooth and creamy fun with the complete video collection.

Thank you to the Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce along with all of the business and volunteers who helped to make this festival a success.

* Look for a special ‘Thank You’ article in next week’s Leader-Vindicator showcasing our festival sponsors, volunteers and everyone who contributed to this year’s festival!
